What you'll set up

The video takes you through your workstation in order, starting with your chair. Each adjustment builds on the one before it.

  1. Your chair

Set the seat height so your feet rest flat on the floor and your thighs are roughly level. Adjust the backrest to support the curve of your lower back.

  2. Your desk height

With your shoulders relaxed, your elbows should sit at about desk height. If the desk is too high, raise your chair and use a footrest.

  3. Your screen

Place the screen directly in front of you, about an arm's length away, with the top of the screen at or slightly below eye level.

  4. Your keyboard and mouse

Bring them in close so you're not reaching. Keep your wrists straight and your mouse right beside the keyboard.

  5. Moving through the day

Even a good set-up needs breaks. Change position and get up from your desk regularly to keep aches and pains away.
