Our Mission is to help our customers tailor their workstations to their needs, reducing the negative impact on their health while maximising their comfort and work performance.
At KOS Ergonomics, we have provided innovative, ergonomic solutions for people around the country for over 30 years.
Founded by Seamus and Catherine Kennedy, with their son James later joining the company, the Kennedy family work closely with our professional team of ergonomic assessors. Our assessors ensure that our clients receive a detailed ergonomic assessment with product recommendations that will help them alleviate their pain.
As a family-run business, we pride ourselves on being able to help those who suffer from musculoskeletal disorders and injuries, as this company was founded on the belief that ergonomics is a beneficial and necessary part of our working lives. Our ergonomic services are designed to help our customers navigate the complexities of workplace ergonomics and help businesses around Ireland ensure workplace compliance.
Our Assessors.
All of our assessors are certified Ergonomists, Physios, Occupational Therapists, or have at least a minimum of BSc/MSc in a health-related field.
As many of our customers come to us in pain, our assessors can work quickly to identify the cause during their assessments. They then work to provide a solution that reduces further risk and mitigates their pain.
To be able to work so effectively, our assessors undergo 200+ hours of training before they can complete an assessment.
Our assessors are trained on our wide range of ergonomic products, allowing them to make detailed product recommendations to suit every situation.
Our Story.
Founding Of KOS Ergonomics
After suffering a back injury, Seamus Kennedy looked for solutions to alleviate his pain while working in an office.
This led him to Ergonomics, a relatively unknown phenomenon in Ireland at the time.
Seamus went on to further study ergonomics, with Catherine studying accounting, the two built out the business and founded KOS Ergonomics.
Introducing The Standing Desk To Ireland
The first major product expansion saw KOS Ergonomics supplying Standing Desks to customers, an innovative addition to offices around Ireland.
Construction Of The Warehouse And Office
Thanks to the continued success of the business, it became necessary to construct a warehouse for storage as-well as the main office.
First Ergonomic Fit Out Project
The company was approached by a purchaser on behalf of a business, who noted the significant increase in quality in the goods KOS provided when compared to other office furniture companies.
This resulted in KOS Ergonomics first office fit out contract, a major stepping stone for the business.
James Joining The Business And The Founding Of The Dublin Office.
In 2011, James joined the company officially, bringing an in depth knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety and Ergonomics.
James ran the first Dublin office when he joined, making cold calls to potential customers.
Volume DSE Assessments
Typically having done more medically oriented DSE assessments, 2019 saw the added service of basic DSE assessments.
This allowed KOS ergonomics to provide detailed advice to users with serious medical conditions, while also being able to provide help to those just looking to work ergonomically.
Full Cycle Solution
2020 saw the arrival of Covid-19, which forced many around the world to change and adapt the way we work to new circumstances.
KOS Ergonomics began to provide full cycle solutions, continuing to provide ergonomic assessment, making product recommendations and providing advice to set up with customers.
This puts KOS Ergonomics in a position to be with the customer every step of their journey.
